PROGRAM INSTALLATION
  • Run the setup program you downloaded. Follow the instructions in the installation program.
  • You will be offered to either do a fresh installation or install over the previous version (if any).

STOCKFISH 17 AND OTHER ENGINES

Stockfish 17 will also be automatically installed upon the first launch.

You can download via Internet and set up other chess engines. To do this:

  1. Go to "Engines" mode
  2. Click "Download" button
  3. Click "Download selected" button
  4. After downloading, click "Install" for to add the engines you want to the list of engines.

HUGEBASE AND ADDITIONAL COMPONENTS

  • After you installed Aquarium, you can also download two databases with 9,38 million games in total and additional components:
    • Huge Base - a database with 8,4 million games (updated on December 1, 2024) (Mirror 1)
    • Correspondence Database - a database with 596 000+ top Correspondence chess games (Mirror)
    • Direct Tree - Opening moves tree (December 1, 2024) (Mirror 1)
    • CAP evaluations are INCLUDED INTO INSTALLATION PACKAGE - an analysis tree with more than 65 000 000 evaluations. Unlike in previous instalments, CAP2025 is included into the installation package, you don't need to download it separately.
  • Please download these files one by one, do not start several downloads simultaneously to avoid slowdown.
  • Ensure Aquarium is not running. <Aquarium Data> stands for your Aquairum Data installation folder.
  • Extract files from d2m.zip to <Aquarium Data>\Atrees\statistics folder.
  • Extract files from hugebase.zip anywhere you like. You may open hugebase in Aquarium. Same can be done for correspondence games (unpack cor2012.zip with cor2012 database and open it in Aquarium).
